Färnebo Folkhögskola focus on peace, environmental and solidarity movement. We are a meeting place for people who want to learn more about global issues, justice and change. We have more than forty years of experience in public education and learning.
Afrikagrupperna is a solidarity organization. They are politically and religiously unbound with the goals of democracy, equality and sustainable development for all. Some of the issues the Africa groups are involved in are democracy development, fair trade conditions, debt relief, the right to education, gender equality and the fight against HIV/AIDS. In southern Africa, they support projects through partnerships with local organizations in Angola, Namibia, Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
The people's campaign against nuclear power & nuclear weapons is a non-partisan non-profit association that wants us to economize on nature's resources and think about nature's cycle. They work so that the people on earth will have a better future, in a well-developed society where we use energy more efficiently and produce electricity from renewable energy sources. The People's Campaign gathers people in a movement, and works for a broad public opinion against nuclear power and nuclear weapons. They influence decision-makers, gather information, review and criticize.
Framtidsjorden is an international network consisting of around fifty member organizations in South America, Asia and Sweden. The network works for an ecologically sustainable and socially just society with cultural diversity. This is done by promoting ecological development in rural and urban areas.
Jordens Vänner is a party-political and religiously independent organization, which works for a transition to a more humane and ecologically sustainable society. The association was formed in 1995 by the merger of the former Environmental Association and Jordens Vänner. Friends of the Earth works, among other things, for improved public transport and towards new motorways, an ecological and solidarity-based agriculture, investment in alternative energy sources and the dismantling of nuclear power, as well as a solidarity-based world trade.
Fältbiologerna is an independent, non-profit association for young people interested in nature and the environment. The association was founded in 1947 and works for a sustainable society, global justice and a good environment. The field biologists organize courses, excursions and trainings to spread knowledge about nature and the environment. The association also carries out opinion formation and tries to influence authorities, politicians, companies, organizations and the public to create a better world.
Kvinnor för Fred (KFF) is politically and religiously unbound. KFF influences government and parliamentary politicians through courtships and letters, participates in international peace marches and women's and peace conferences. KFF has organized and participated in demonstrations against nuclear weapons, against landmines, for humane reception of refugees, for the release of political prisoners and for peace in the Middle East, against the war in Iraq, against the war in the Balkans and against foreign military exercises in Norrland.
Latinamerikagrupperna (formerly UBV) was founded in 1968 and is a religiously and politically independent solidarity association, which together with Latin American popular movements works for a just and sustainable society. The Latin American groups work in Sweden and Latin America to change the structures that force men and women to live in poverty and exclusion. The methods include support for collaborative organizations in Latin America, advocacy work in Sweden, knowledge exchange between Sweden and Latin America and internships in Latin America.
PeaceWorks är en ideell och medlemsdriven ungdoms- och fredsorganisation. De är en normkritisk plattform med visionen om en rättvis och hållbar värld i fred, där unga är aktiva samhällsaktörer. kunskapsutbyte mellan Sverige och Latinamerika och praktik i Latinamerika.
Praktisk Solidaritet is an umbrella organization for four Swedish collection organizations whose activities mainly consist of collecting used clothes, shoes, among other things, for reuse and aid. Practical Solidarity coordinates the members' material assistance and other efforts for common recipients and partners in the South.
Service Civil International (SCI) was founded in 1920 and today organizes approximately 800 camps around the world. The Swedish branch of SCI has existed since 1943 and organizes approximately 15 camps annually in Sweden. The purpose of the activity is to work for peace and international solidarity through practical action. Through camp activities, people from different countries have the opportunity to meet across borders and gain personal experience of working, learning and living together.
Svalorna Latinamerika is a non-partisan and religious association that works to strengthen human and democratic rights in Latin America. In Sweden, Svalorna Latinamerika works to spread information about global injustices and what opportunities there are for change. Svalorna Latin America also wants to influence decision-makers and those in power on issues that affect their target groups in Latin America. Their operations are based on members who provide their support via voluntary work and/or financial support.
Svenska Fredskommittén is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1949 and has since worked for peace and disarmament, solidarity and anti-racism. Among other things, they want to strengthen public opinion in favor of nuclear disarmament and against the militarization of space. They have solidarity projects in both Russia and Latin America and organize school youth trips to Berlin with the theme of anti-racism.
DRS – Den resande skolan is a religiously and party-politically independent organization. The purpose of the association is partly to create a forum for continued involvement in Färnebo Folk High School's activities and the issues the school works on, and partly to actively participate in the school's ideological development. To a large extent, this is done by being part of the process of creating new courses based on Färnebo folk high school's pedagogy and our own experiences of taking a course at the school.
